Is a gift legally yours can that person take it back !!!!!!?

my step son moved in with us a couple of months ago, he has recently asked his mum for his stuff i.e xbox , toys, clothes etc she says no as she brought them ALL the items were xmas presents from her to her son can she keep them or can my stepson have them !!!!!
